A remarkable older set in the highly collectible and romantic Rose Time Chintz from Lord Nelson Ware. Clean inside and out with clean crazing throughout all pieces. Gilt trims are 85% intact. Colors are unfaded, this particular chintz is beautiful!
Dimensions: Sugar: 2.25" high and 3" wide. Creamer: 2.25" high and 5" out to handle. Tray is 4.5" by 7.5"
Lord Nelson Ware was made by Elijah Cotton Staffordshire, England. The chintz pattern was introduced in 1931 and was made into the early fifties.
Backstamp marks are displayed, "LORD NELSON WARE – Rose Time– MADE IN ENGLAND" in gold over a fainter mark, "BCM/NELSON WARE – MADE IN ENGLAND".

HISTORY: Chintz designs became popular with English potters about 1928. It was manufactured on a large scale between the 1920s to early 1950s and appeared primarily on tea ware and dinner ware. Typical chintz ware is color lithographed transfer paper applied over clear glazed ware.
